Teaching Tools
We provide a variety of tools and resources, both on
and off line, to help teachers with their planning and day-to-day work. Please
select from one of the areas below:
Graphic Organizers: Use our printable graphic organizers to help facilitate your student’s understanding of key nonfiction concepts. These ready-to-use graphic organizers will help students organize ideas and communicate what they have read more effectively.
- English Language Learners (ELL): Many of our nonfiction titles support ELL programs. We've assembled many of the tools and support materials here that you'll need to order and use our books as supplemental ELL materials in your school or district.
- Online Correlations: All of our books are written with an eye to key curriculum standards. On this page, you'll find correlations of our books to your own state's education standards.
- Teaching Notes: Great nonfiction books teach themselves...up to a point. Heinemann-Raintree Classroom moves beyond those limits with Teaching Notes that support the instruction of text structures, text features, comprehension, and vocabulary.
- Grant Program: Thanks to everyone who submitted applications for the 2007 Making the Nonfiction Connection Grant, which offered educators the opportunity to apply for Heinemann-Raintree nonfiction books valuing up to $5,000! See the winners and check back in 2008 for another grant opportunity.
- California ELA/ELD: Download correlations and find your local sales representative.
- Leveling: Use our online leveling tool to find Fountas & Pinnell leveling information, as well as Hi-Lo Reading and Accelerated Reader® ATOS levels to meet your specific leveled needs!
- Comprehension Toolkit Collection: This collection of nonfiction books has been specially selected by Stephanie Harvey and Anne Goudvis to accompany The Comprehension Toolkit.
- Exhibits & Conferences: See where we are planning to showcase our products and come see us!
- Kentucky Support: Download these documents (PDF format) that support core content for Kentucky Science (Grades K-5) and Kentucky Science (Grades 6-8).
If there are other ways that we could be of assistance to you, please let us know!
